One Weekend

This weekend we have been lucky enough to meet three incredible couples and photograph them. On Friday we explored the beautiful Peak District with Sarah and Sam, a place that they have shared with their families in the past and with us that day. We walked though ferns up to our waists and photographed the wind dancing with Sarah’s hair.

Saturday we got up and out of the house for Kate & John’s Wedding. We headed to Kate’s family home to be welcomed in with tea and smiles. Always makes you feel grateful listening to people’s stories on Wedding mornings, the journeys it’s taken to get to that point and that’s just the start.

It rained pretty hard on Sunday morning, the kind of rain that makes our old cottage rested on the Pennine moors leak. Then the sun came out, christening all the new rain that had fallen on the wet grass.

We met Sophie & Dan at our little shop in the village, before heading up onto the windy grey green moors with the sun coming out to play every now and again.  It was really great to see them both again and to have a catch up. What’s even better is to see how the are with each other, subtle movements with graceful touches of hands and hair.

It’s been a weekend of new things, smiles and working with my beautiful wife. I feel so grateful to have the people in our lives that we do right now and to all the new adventures that are coming. We have both fallen in love a little bit more with Photography, and the importance of it this weekend. Trusting in our own abilities and learning new things as we go.

A friend of ours used this expression, it makes me think of her and the strength of the people around her whenever we see or hear it.  Right now it pretty much sums up how I feel about this moment….. It’s all light, love & laughter.
